Following the route of last four years’ sophomore ride and the inspiration of the “Trail of Tears” cycling trip in 2004, and the 1996, 1998, and 2000 cycling trips of The Principio Project, the Peddie Bike Ride 2010 is focused on enabling younger Peddie students to experience their country first hand, country that they, and much of modern America, could otherwise easily forget. A group trip in all respects, students not only ride each day’s route and explore the countryside but also plan menus, shop, cook, clean, and manage their own success and the success of the group, under the guidance of veteran Peddie faculty. This year’s ride has been expanded to two groups of sixteen: thirty-two students will be our largest expedition ever!

                   

It is about time to begin the sign-ups for the 2010 edition of Sophomore Bike Ride.

 

Students who want to participate in the trip must sign up between 8.00 am Monday, February 15, and 4.00 pm Friday, February 19, by submitting the (click here to download) Bike Ride 2010 Interest Form to Mr. Clements’s office (Annenberg 210.5), with a parent or guardian’s signature (on same or separate forms). If, at the end of the sign-up period, there is more interest than available spots (sixteen boys and sixteen girls), priority will be given to those having expressed earliest, as determined by the two “requests for interest” back in the fall term. A waiting list may then result. 

 

The cost of this ten day trip is $600. Following February sign-ups, a $100 deposit secures as spot, with the balance due by June 1.
